I am an affiliate with a shopping website. I need to advertise it in order to make money. I am willing to invest $200 a month in advertising other than adwords, adcenter, yahoo marketing. Those are expensive. Any advice out there?

can anybody guide me how affiliate marketing works? If suppose I put some affiliate links on my website, how would I know if a person has clicked my referral links. Is there some way to know this? Can a company cheat with its affiliate marketing program by not giving payment? How will I keep a track on the no. of visitors following my referral links? I hope you getting my point.

That is a question that was blaring in my head for the first month and a half of my affiliate marketing career. It is very easy to be skeptical at first. I mean, how can it be so easy to make money online! Well after many hours of working towards my goal of one sale, I can confidently tell you, affiliate marketing does work!

I start my affiliate marketing career on march 17th, 2008. I came across a membership site that promised to give me all the information I needed to become an affiliate marketer. I joined and began absorbing as much information as possible. Luckily for me, the membership site I joined was very legit and far from an online scam. I learned all the lingo, strategies, and tactics. I felt like this was it, I was finally going to make a full time income online and quit my horrible day job!

Feeling pumped up with all of this new information, I started to take action. I wrote articles and started Google AdWords campaigns knowing that sales were going to come in any minute! Well, minuets, hours, and days passed with nothing. I was putting about 14 hours a day into this on top of my 8 hour work day! I was not seeing a penny for all my efforts. The concept was sound and I was putting in effort but seeing nothing. This when I started asking myself “Does affiliate marketing work”.

I was a month and a half into my affiliate marketing adventure and ready to give it all up. I had wasted money and time on all of this affiliate nonsense! Then something amazing happened. I checked my stats on my affiliate site and there was a sale! I had actually made a sale! The sale earned me $31.67 for my commission. I am surprised my head did not hit the ceiling! I was so excited that I began to jump around the room like I was insane!

After that day, I began to see sales everyday. Then I was making a couple sales a day. Now I make roughly $300 a day! I do all that mostly with free methods of marketing so about 95% of that is pure profit! I have officially quit my day job and am loving life! So if you ask me “Does affiliate marketing work” I will tell you “Yes! Start affiliate marketing now!”.

I am going to open my online clothing store for junior/ young lady.
